Due to current health advice, it will not be possible to schedule any celebration of the Sacraments of First Holy Communion or Confirmation for the remainder of May or June 2021. The following decision has been made for the Diocese of Clonfert.
(1) Any celebration of Confirmation and First Holy Communion remaining from 2020 is to be rescheduled to take place from July 2021;
(2) In accordance with previous advice, the celebration of First Holy Communion for 2021 should be scheduled for Autumn 2021 and not beforehand;
(3) In accordance with previous advice, the celebration of Confirmations for 2021 will be scheduled for the end of September/October 2021.
Please note that the eventual publication of exact dates will depend on public health advice at the time.
We are conscious that this will be a disappointment to those who were looking forward to celebrating their First Holy Communion and Confirmation in the coming weeks. Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We hope and pray that once the current Covid-19 situation improves we will be in a position to celebrate these Sacraments safely.
